KRATZ, Ai-Wen Wu

Ai-Wen Wu Kratz, of Chinese origin, received her BFA degree in Painting and Mathematics from Fort Wright College, Spokane, Washington. She is an alumna of two prestigious institutions, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she received her Master’s Degree of Fine Art in Painting and Printmaking. She was a recipient of a number of scholarships and many awards. She taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia, MO, under the name of Josephine Wu. Wu Kratz’s studio is in DuBois, PA, where she currently resides. In addition to the United States, she had solo exhibitions in France, Germany, England and Egypt. Her works are in collections in Canada, Germany, China and the U.S., including the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, St. Louis, MO. She is one of the winners in “Call To Artists” in the Washington D.C. Metro Area for the 2008 special exhibition event in the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Her works will be featured in the 2007 Juried Group Show at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, PA. She was also one of the award recipients in “Women In The Arts 2007” at the Museum Of The Americas, FL.
